Mk2 Escort Rack
Hi -
Can anyone tell me where I can get new tie rods for a Mk2 Escort steering rack? I had a slight *ahem* incident that has left both tie rods bent. I really don't want to get a whole new rack as everything else if fine - just 2 new (or used) inner tie rods.
NB It's the inner tie rods (i.e. the bit that bolts into the rack) that I want - NOT the tie rod ends - they're fine.
Nick

Hi Tabetha -
I've got the rods out no problems (once I realised there was a rollpin locking the end caps on).
I'll look at straightening mine out then - would heat to cherry red and straighten in a vice do the trick?
I would still prefer new ones tbh, but it looks like they can't be bought separate from a rack.

They can defo be bought seperate, but will be fine if straightened, yes heat till glowing then vice/hammer them till straight/ish, don't have to be 100%, as will be adjusted and maintain same length anyway.
