got a 2.0l zvh mainley standard bottom end with skimmed pistons and im runnin around 10-12 psi been told that with skimmed pistons no more than a bar of boost (14.7psi) if the pistons are standard probley arond 3-4 psi
hope that helps which makes 175bhp 205fpt

3-4 psi on a 2.0l zvh? standard frst run 7-8 psi... n 16 psi wit a stage 2 chip n beige injectors n obviously -31 actuator n ugraded fuel pump as mine is set so surely u could get more than 3-4 psi outta standard 2.0 zvh?

you dont want to be aiming for how much boost you can run you want to be looking at the power out put.

one engine mite make 200bhp at 15 psi yet one with a ported head mite make 200bhp at 12psi

that is quite a low reading of power for the boost on a zvh.

i'm running/was running 11psi and just shy of 200bhp on a 1.8 on skimmed early pistons, as they have thicker crowns than later ones or the 2.0 pistons.
15psi is said to be fine, but i know a guy running 20psi on a 1.8zvh silvertop with skimmed pistons and he puts his on track and is still on the first engine, kicking out 318bhp with NOS on top of that.

the general info i've been told about on zvh's is that 11 psi or there abouts should give 200bhp(ish) on a CR of around 8:1
very general i know, but a frst LUK clutch can't hold the power/torque back on 10.5psi of boost and they're usually good to 180-190bhp and what ever torque may be applied to that.

30psi wont damage your engine if its fuelling right and not detting or running high EGT's

But 0psi with the wrong fuelling and timing could easily kill it.

Boost really is NOT the critical factor in setting up an engine, as clarkey mentioned.

compression would be good from 130 to around 200, there is no definite as it's all determined by the seal in the valves and tight tolerances in the rings.
egt is exhaust gas temperature which if too high can melt pistons/wreck the turbo.

Cam spec will massively vary the reading you get from that.

/\ they are only good to make sure engine wear is consistant throughout the cylinders.
so compare results of all the cylinders to each other, not an ideal reading to aim for, although if too low i'd be concerned.
