Rear Ligh Problems PLEASE HELP
Right i recently done a turbo conversion on my escort xr3i se 500. I installed turbo loom in replace of the 3i loom and cut the wires along side the drivers door which i am guessing controll the rear lights. I have now reconnected the 3i loom from the drivers seat back to the turbo loom all the wires mate colour wise except 1 brown and red wire which i think is for the electric aerial.
My problem is when the ignition is on the reverse lights are not working.
When i put the indicator on the drivers side all the rear lights start to flash.
The brake lights work so does the number plate light but nothing else
I dont see what could be causing this as i reconnected all the wires.

Try putting the plug for the rear light cluster on the right way up.
My Saff failed an MOT on a slight Xmas Tree effect on the nearside rear lights. They cleaned the terminals up OK, but couldn't work out why all the lights on that side came on at once or didn't work properly. Took me half an hour to twig - the multiplug had been put back on upside-down.

The other thing to do is just solder a new earth to each light board, and connect to a nearby earth point, I always hard solder in the light boards on mine, just saves so much hassle, do that at the same time as my brake light fog light mod, that is the rear fogs work with the brake lights, but still on their own, when switched on the normal brake lights still work, totally 100% legal and mot passable.
