Hi just got my escort rs turbo. And the fan switch had been bypassed to run all the time I put fan switch back in line and it cuts in and out ok fan works then found a holl in rad replaced with new rad flushed out all old water from block and heater replaced stat and ran up stlii hot allways above half way between the o and r of normal.
Wen engine running only a trickel of water getting back to header tank when you rev it still only a trickel do you think water pump has had it ?????

The only way to find out is to use it, then let it idle and see if the fan when it cuts in can bring the temps down so that it goes off again.
I don't know how much return flow there is on the rst, turbo return to tank, but as it's flowing should be ok, the water pump is working or it would just heat up within 5 minutes and boil on the spot.
From your reading of the gauge I wouldn't be worried, the gauges in fords are notoriously crap and inacurate anyway,

What do you mean by water back to the header tank? If you mean via the little pipe from the swirl pot, it's not meant to return a flow of water.
