wiring up a afr meter ???
hi just a quick one want to rig up an afr meter to my cossie
already have the exhaust manifold drilled and tapped for my lambda
i have a golf gti bosch sensor ( 4 wire) heated i think will this be suitable ????
my afr gauge has 3 wires
red --- i assume is 12v live ???
black---- i assume is earth ???
and has a grey wire which i think is the signal wire from the lambda ????
my question is how do i wire it all up to the lambda ????
the lambda has 4 wires
two are white ??? one grey and one black ???
help lol

Black is signal, white are for 12V heater circuit for the lambda, grey is earth, on the Lambda, I would assume(but check) that on the AFR gauge the red is live, black is signal, grey is earth.
On the lambda the white wires are not polarity concious, as no making so just live on one and earth on the other, the heater circuit in the sensor speeds up the delay in reading
as they don't work till a certain temperature is reached.

cheers tabs so in essence you are saying the white wires on the lambda are a 12v live feed ??? and it doesnt matter about polarity bit like a motor ??
think the grey wire on my meter is signal ..... as its an led type meter so assume the blk and red are 12v feed ???
cheers for the help
and i assume the 4 wire preheated type sensor are up to the job then ??

The 4 wire heated sensor is most likely a BOSCH lsu sensor so well up to the job.
Of the white wires 1 is earth 1 is live, doesn't matter which as this only supplies the heater circuit for the sensor, the sensor earth is through the body/exhaust.
I can't definitively help with the metre colours/functions all I can say is in EU black is always signal, but in other countries can be almost any colour, blue being a fave!!
