Hi, new to this forum, did a search but not found answer.

I've got a 1.8 ghia escort ('97) and it ticks over nice but when you drive it theres a loss of power and it just doesn't pick up properly. if you dip the clutch to get the revs up really high it goes but still not full power.

other places i've read that it could be:
Breather pipe blocked
a valve sticking
an electrical problem (i.e. a sensor faulty)

which is it most likely to be and which breather pipe would be blocked as thats the first thing i can check easily.
