Default Help needed with Ford Escort RS 1800 rally car build

Hello All,

I am a new member here and i would like some advice regarding the above subject. Kindly bare with my lack of knowledge on this subject as i am actually trying to get some info to help a friend of mine who is building a1800 RS for the upcoming East African Safari Rally.

The car has been very well built (safari spec) with a FIA approved roll cage, seam welded chassis, bigger fuel tank, proflex suspension etc. Its got a new fully forged engine (pistons, rods, crankshaft, cams, Webbers, etc) with all parts bought from the UK.

Now, on start up the engine comes to life nicely and revs very well when throttle is applied. However, when DRIVING the car the engine seems to have no power whatsoever and it is very sluggish.

Can anyone shed some light on where to start looking for the problem? If you guys require more info to go on then please let me know what exactly to ask my friend in order for you to give him some answers.

Many thanks,
Imran

HI Imran, if you still have this problem, please contact us, as we built a car for this rally a few years ago. Bye. http://www.bobdowen.co.uk
