Default Have i been sent the wrong thermostat? *update*

I ordered a thermostat for my RS from ECP, they sent me one with an odd part number on the box, but I thought it may be right anyway, took the old one out and took these photos.

Is it wrong or can the smaller one fit in too? Didnt seem to fit to me!

The bigger one is the orig and the small one the new one.

I fitted the old one back but the rubbers so shagged it lost all water in a matter of minutes, walking to work tomorrow thanks to ECP! (Unless its my fault and it is right after all?)

Please could osmeone shed some light on this?

probaby the wrong thermostat.
why did you lose all the water, the thermostat housing seals the cooling system not the thermostat.

Need a new gasket. Only had one and did'nt want to waste it. I presume using the old one caused the water to come out?

Good, i'm not going mad! ECP are bringing me another one tomorrow, even though they are sure it's the right one! I'll get the old one back out for when they get there to make damn sure this time!

So they sent me the replacement today, it was too big to even fit in the housing!!! They said those 2 are the only ones listed for an RS Turbo. Are they being idiots or do I have some random thermostat housing fitted?!?! THe gasket fits the housing perfectly so I suspect not! I've ordered one from Ford instead so fingers crossed with this one!

I got an 82 degree one from burton power, opens earlier than the standard one and helps with temps slightly. Can be a nightmare getting parts for our old cars when you don't go through an rs specialist.
