Mk 5 Cabby Aerial Wires
Just going through a few jobs on my Mk 5 Cabby and theres 3 wires just snipped in the boot compartment by the aerial. 1 x white, red and black, can anyone confirm for me please that these are for the electric aerial as the one thats on is broke and has no wire attachments.

Defo sound like it, the black is live, but a SWITCHED LIVE, ie this will be the stereo aerial or amp output used to raise lower, as it will only be live whilst stereo is on.
So just prod to confirm, and the other two wires as well, one earth(most likely white) and red is most likely positive.

shortie i got a mk5 cab in bits fella will help when i can tab is right about yr wires they live behind the roof pump one the earth just goes to a self tapper on the outside of the panel one switched live direct from the stereo one ignition live

Thanx cabriolet, dont suppose you have a pic of where you mean for the earth on the panel please. Also the fuse thats on the pump looks like it gets clipped onto something as mine is loose?

the earth goes to a self tapper it is under the trim between the carpet and metal behind the pump the fuse clips with the roof relays right next to the back light fella
