Default no battery or oil warning light

i recently put new engine in my s2 and when i turn ignition on i have no battery warning light or oil warning light i no the alternater is good as it was on my old engine and worked fine i also no the bulbs in dash are good any ideas pls

Both these relay on earth return to light the bulbs, so I would check the earth strap first is fitted tightly, then earth the thin blue wire out on metal/engine to see if bulb works, and same for the oil pressure wire.
