I just use Loctite 5900 or 5910, with no gasket, gauranteed not to leak a single drop.

I have used the LOCTITE 543 Gasket Positioner with cometic and standard gaskets on most of the YB's joints with excellent non leaking results, it comes in a dispenser like a tube of Pritt-Stick paper glue, you just rub it on both surfaces IE: the metal and the gasket and it holds it in position ideal if you are doing sump gaskets in-situ
