S2 Missing rather badly....
Hi there,
I have an S2 thats just come out of hibernation after a lengthly 'sort out'!
It was running sweetly this morning, better than ever in fact, I took her for a 30 mile drive along A & M roads taking it nice & easy, after I sat on the exit slip & pulled off, it suddenly started missing really badly, hardly able to pull away, once boost crept in it would run fine & the miss went, I took it real easy as when it was on boost, black smoke was coming from the exhaust.
I got it back home to find some very black spark plugs, I replaced them yet the problem is still there.
I'm hoping it's just an electrical fault somewhere but I'm not sure where to start. I checked the coil wiring & HT leads, coil & lead are no more than a year old.
Any help will be greatly appreciated....

Lack of air. Coming onto boost it's getting more oxygen, and as you said, it's getting lots of fuel.
Probably the metering unit playing up. My XR3i (Mfi) and S1 both did similar things. Easiest way was a swift sharp tap on top of it with a hammer! Sorted it right out Also opening it up and greasing the pivot arm with carb cleaner helped too
