Default Question about lower arms

Ive just bought a standard lower arm (track control arm) off ebay for my 3door. The listing described it as being in 'as new' condition having been fitted to a car but not actually used.
It arrived today and looks pretty good but there is no rubber boot over the balljoint, just a load of grease around it and you can actually see the balljoint.
Do i have to buy the rubber boot seperately or should it be already on there? I was under the impression that it came as one complete unit as opposed to being able to buy the boot on its own and fit it yourself?
If its available seperately il buy it and fit it, if not im gonna have to try and get a refund!

It should have a boot on the threaded end that goes into the hub.

If not it will make a nice door stop
