Default turbo management

i'm in need of some advice regarding ecu/engine management, basically i'm turbocharging my rs2k i4 engine and am stumped on the management side
i'm only looking for about 200-220bhp as i want it to be reliable, i have already fitted forged pistons and rods plus and 200sx exhaust manifold, been told that the standard inlet & injectors are good for 250bhp so does that mean i can run it off the eec-iv system already in the car? can it be remapped? if so where? if need aftermarket management is anyone selling one as i haven't got the 500+ for new?
advice please

How much do you think that a map-sensor plus a custom re-map on a rolling road will cost?
You also need modifications to the wiring loom and some valve to control the boost,
which is probably not possible with the standard EEC-IV or run low boost mechanically controlled.
Are you sure your standard fuel pump is up for the job? Do you have an intercooler?
You should have thought about the money before you started this project.

Maybe, Maybe you could use the system from a Fiesta RS Turbo.

i'd say try megasquirt, but you can blow Ł350 on a good one, then you've got to sort the loom.
but you learn a new skill and it's not a bad bit of kit once you know what you're doing.
alternatively get a chip, but the standard injectors are no good for big power at all.
i'd be suprised if they can cope with 180bhp.
same with fuel pump, should be ok for 200bhp, but may stuggle after that.

The EEC system won't run a boosted engine as it can't see above atmospheric pressure. You'll need another management system from somewhere but I doubt you'll find one less that 500 notes.

And if you want to save and learn more, you can get the DIY megasquirt kits for around 100Ł.

I know. I did a few Cossie installs with the MS2 in 2005. Still think that the basic MS1 is unbeatable from the bang for buck aspect. And you can always upgrade the MS1 to MS2 for under 50Ł.

I first installed the MS1 for my own cars in around 2002, and haven't yet found a reason to upgrade from the v2.2 MS1.

You can always use our V4, its ALOT better than a megasauirt, and ISO9000 certified, 2 year warraty blah blah :P

Doing them for Ł495+VAT which includes free mapping on our rollers (limited offer, just for the group buy etc)

Cheers,
Matt

what's better than megasquirt on this setup?
i'm now running msIIv3.0 and can't see how it's all that bad, infact i'm really getting to grips with it.

i got an MSIIv3.0 unit with wasted spark so no need for edis, which is better for contolling spark.
you need a loom to connect to ecu and you cut the loom in car and connect the harness to the ecu loom (remembering the ecu earths the injectors, isvc and coil and is the signal from sensors which need earthing)
nothing more needed really, apart from a wideband afr setup to make mapping possible and a laptop to run datalogs to map it for power and smoothness.
i'm pretty confident i could have a bash at most applications after i ballsed up on mine a few times and know the errors of my ways.
pretty simple if you take your time.

that'll get you going in the right direction, you will need to plumb in a wideband afr setup though, ideal for all levels of tuning, you can monitor if there is a problem and get it spot on for efficiency and tweek with it manually to get it a bit smoother.
you shouldn't need a three bar map sensor till you go over 21psi of boost
