2.0 Zetec Dyno / RRoad Graph
I'e got a 2.0 zetec in my car that's been tuned: reworked head, oversize pistons, piper 320 cams, running on jenvey 45 t/b's ( built by scholar). Wondered if anyone on here that is also running a 'similar' 2.0 zetec would be kind enough to share a copy of their r/road graph. had mine remapped recently and wanted to sanity check the plot/power band. was originally mapped last yr when built, decided to get it done again by diff company in an effort to smooth the power out - obviously appreciate that diff r/roads will give slightly different figs/results, but not convinced that anything has really changed although i know the last place changed timing etc. thx.

Just out of interest mate, what sort of bhp and tourque did you get from the mods you have? I'm gonna be building myself a 2.0 zetec soon and would like to know what works well etc, Had one in my old mk6 escort si but it was standard except for a straight through powerflow including decat and a pipercross induction kit.

i got 232bhp @ 7950 and 166lb at 5500. when i popped it to the r/road i had wondered if changing the timing + remapping could give me slightly more torque at the expense of a few bhp ( being a technical muppet i wasnt sure if that was possible ) - thats why am interested to hear from other folks.......

Sounds like a mental engine mate! My 1.8 blacktop is pretty lightweight compared to that but commenting on what my graph showed (standard comp and pistons, standard head, stage 2 cams) I get a constantly climbing power curve with a dip in power and torque at 3500rpm (well known flat spot) and slightly before at around 2500rpm. After about 3800rpm torque peaks and holds and power constantly on the increase till the limiter. Hope that's of some help as N/A zetecs somehow all display some form of torque dip in the mid range, even one that was on OMEX..
Can you post up your curve please? Otherwise very impressive motor it sounds like you got there!

i'll have to scan it tomorrow and then figure how to post it!
the curve isnt really a curve - every 500 revs gives another 20bhp, from 3k to 6k, then it has a wobbleand at 6.5resumes the +20bhp, dieing at 7k (222) and then then 7-7.9 just gives another 10bhp. i'm keen to know if the set up i've got maximizes the potential of the engine, cant justify another Łxxx at thr r/road on a hunch, but i think the torque seems a bit low at 168? thought might have been able to achieve 180?

I'm no expert on the subject mate but depending on things like the choice of cams and setup of the throttle bodies, they become high revving power machines rather than grunty mid range pullers. What I'm trying to say is, this doesn't sound out of character to be producing not that much torque and a shitload of power. Just as an example the new Mugen tuned Honda Civic Type R boasts 237bhp and only about 169ft.lbs of torque, just the way the engines have been designed mate. Yours doesn't sound too different or that far down on torque although getting into the mid-high 170s doesn't sound too unrealistic. Just to give you an idea of my curves, here they are along with my spec:
-1.8 Blacktop Zetec 16v
-AEM style long arm induction
-ST170 4-2-1
-Power Engineering decat
-Piper cat-back
-Stage 2 Comp Cams
-Kent Cam Verniers
-CFM UDPs
-Bluefin "altered" for cams
-Ford Motorsport HT leads

Who's your tuner mate? They should be able to advise you on cam profile accordingly.
Funny enough, the old grind Comp cam profile which I have were more suited to power than torque thus why my torque figure being down on what some others have managed to achieve. From my understanding, a milder exhaust cam can help the mid range more.
