MFI XR3i Fuel Pump Will Not Run!!!
Hi All,
I have a 1987 escort XR3i mfi cab and i have just bought a new fuel pump but it still wont run
I tried touching the solinoid thing in the relay and that didnt work 
but there were tiny sparks so there is power in the relay.
any sugestions????
A wiring diagram for the fuel pump would be helpful.

The quickest way to solve this would be to power the pump direct from a spare battery/jump pack etc, so you know 100% that it works, occasionally even new ones are duff.
The relay only supplies the LIVE side of the pump, so you will need to also look at the earth side, assuming relay/holder wiring is ok.
