Default Help! pls Escos

My escos blows water out of the header tank cap when i give it some beans. If just taken my time its fine, only been doing it the last 2 shows i have been too.
The temp is fine on the car only reading 1/4 on the gauge .The car itself runs spot on, maybe a little lumpy on tickover. Its a blue wv cap, is it fooked or is there a air lock in the coolant or anything that can do this.

Headgasket could be on it's way out, mine did the same. Was fine until you came on boost.

Not an expert mate so i'm not sure about the water bubbling-dosn't sound right to me are you signed up to www.escortrscosworth.com ? plenty of guys on there with a lot more knowledge than me, pretty sure someone on there will have an answer for you. Have you took it back to the guys who done the rebuild to see if they have any ideas?

open the little bolt ontop the thermostat hsing until coolant comes out without any bubbles! and see how you get on! could also be a faulty stat m8!

I ran it yesterday from cold for about 20mins just ticking over, but with the top off the coolant tank & it was fine no over heating ,fan coming on fine, no boiling over.
ticked over sweet as a nut.
I did 130miles back from fordfair & it only started spitting out the cap at 5mins from my home, when i got carried away & gave it some welly!!,
The engine was built in 2003 ,only done 9k & was in rallynews for the built by andyfisher. Can a faulty stat do this.
THanks Rich.

yes a stat can but to me it sounds as though it has air in the system! as I said above open the bolt ontop the therm hsing with the car running and ones collant runs freely close it up! one other thing I'd also check that the cap is working properly as have known them to be at fault(as I see it's on an alloy tank)

4wd and 2wd stats are different, 4wd one a lot more, not sure on cap price but is VW.
I would firstly make sure the de-gas pipe to the expansion tank is clear, and don't top up over min level, keeping it on min is fine.
The systems on these degas perfectly, if ok, so any air left after the first heat up and cool down is not trapped air but is created most likely by a HG.
It is normal for the coolant to bubble, as it gets hotter when you switch off, and helps to draw out any air(de-gas).
If you watch it after doing a a/freeze change you'll find that about 10-15 mins after switching off it will bubble lots, then stop as the air comes out into the tank and the level drops a bit.
A dicky cap can cause water loss as it lowers the boiling point over a working one.

Firstly thanks for the info & help.
I've changed the stat & cap,& took it out for a good run & no water out of the cap. When switched off it bubbled for 5-10mins then stopped is this right? I have a bailey tank which has no min-max marks,is the de-gas pipe the top one from the swirl-pot.
Cheers Rich

Should the coolant bubble everytime the car is taken out for a run?
This last's about 5_10 mins then stops?

Do all 4x4 do this, as my 3door doesn't? cant remember if it did this before. As said before i have changed the cap & stat but still bubbles after a run! & have bled the therm hsing & all ok.
