Default Smoking cossie

Just had the head recond on my sierra and was told it was smoking badly and the turbo had gone, put a new turbo on and its still chucking out thick white smoke, i have been told it might be oil in the exhaust but would it make that much smoke? Any ideas???

White smoke is normally water, if so suspect head gasket.
Blue smoke is oil, could be oil left in the intercooler.

Dont think its headgasket as head was skimmed when it was off and all checked when put back together.

STEAM is water, white smoke is normally a oil leak into exhaust side of turbo, like del boys reliant, it's just a pipe feeding oil into the rear box.
It could just be all the old oil coming out, and it can take ages.
