Question Focus RS Mk1 Cat (flexi join) issues!! Help!!

Hi Everyone

I have desperately been trying to find a part for my Mk1 Focus RS, I have purchased many different parts from ford specialists which all turn out to be wrong. So I am turning to you ford mad people to see if you can shed some light on this?? Please

Where the cat connects to the downpipe, in the middle of the cat it has a wire mesh gasket, which is blowing on my car. I have been trying to find someone who makes them and have been informed I can not buy it as it is a flexi join, and would need to replace the cat costing £1300. Me being a girl bought a full exhaust system (due to arrive this week) thinking if i get the decat pipe this will solve my problem.... but Graham Goode Racing informed me this would not get rid of that part. So I am back on the hunt, and don't really want to buy a new cat but I will if I have too.

My focus only has 32k on the clock, and I have done 400 miles since I bought her in March, so she just sits in my garage and comes out on the weekends when the sun is out! This is my toy car so I am not desperate for the part, I just don't want to spend £1300 on a new cat if I can locate the gasket for £50.

Sorry for the essay I hope you guys can help.

Thank you

Cassie

I knew it would be you Cassie when I saw the usename ! Welcome to PF

You can buy flexi joins as we use them on conversions.

Anything like that will work for you, just measure the pipework on your exhaust and order the correct one to suit your car.

Jonboy (Barb's) mate

Edit,

Reading back its not exactly what your after but it will work, someone on here may know of the exact bit you need but I'll be honest I personally know nothing about the FRS so thats the best I can come up with

Ahhh Jonboy - what you trying to say about my username lol they do kind of go in the same order like Fiesta Turbo Chick, Scooby Chick now Focus Rs Chick... didn't have my GTI-R for long enoiugh to create a user name..... I really should keep a car for more than a few years eh I get too bored ) or just ditch the chick bit ha ha.

Hope you are well hun, Thanks for the info, I will check them out. You could have replied to my FB posts!

One of my mates is a fabricator he said he would give it a bash but he was concerned if it went wrong I would be in a worse situation!

Thank You
