im just wondering weather or not my turbo on my rs turbo engine (escort)
is ready for dieing,
when its running its fine i give it a little rev up to about...5k revs it still doesnt smoke. hmmm?

i some times driving look in my middle mirror it some times give a little puff of smoke smells like burning oil or smelly like a smoky turbo. but only when i let off the revs, sometimes it does it sometimes it doesnt. but it doesnt smoke when i put my foot down only when i let go of the revs but only does it very little time like 1 or twice sometimes it doesnt? is this a turbo fault or? please help. thanks. please note the engine has a full rebuilt due for an oil change its done 500miles. from new rebuild.

not to clued up on turbos myself but check for play in the shaft if there is alot thats usually a bad sign especially in/out movement

ive checked it but there is no movement. thanks anyway m8

on de acceleration white blue smoke usually means turbo a i had the same problem on my old erst
oil is leaking past as the turbo is slowing down
rebiult my engine completely last time for this problem ended up being turbo
my turbo had hardly no lay in it either

come to think of it done the smae thing with the one i got now
and that was turbo failier again

hmm but on acceleration no smoke shows, u can rev the nuts off it and no smoke will show only the odd time abit of smoke just goes puff out the back only sometimes when i let go of the acceleration (not always)
but it 100% does smell like a worn out turbo
