whats the best oil to use?

just finished fitting a new sump gasket on my series 2,but dont know whats the best oil to use? i ve bin told to put castrol in but would like to get a second oppion.

valvoline VR1 is what i use. never had problems in any of my engines

seconded. i put VR1 10w/60 in mine, does the job and doesn't use any
