Default changing crank shaft oil seal

Hi. i need to change the crank shaft oil seal at the pulley end of my cvh. i'm having difficulties stopping the engine from turning over when i'm trying to undo the bottom pulley bolt. i've tried a spanner on the cam wheel but the belt jumps over the teeth because the bolt is so tight! also tried leaving it in gear and putting foot on the brake but something is slipping somewhere and i don't have any mates to help me out! any suggestions welcome!?
cheers

I've just done the same job tom,the best way to do it is to put the car in the air on axle stands, lay under the car and remove the starter motor, with your right hand jam a big screw driver or somthing similar in the flywheel, while you do that undo the bottom pulley with your left hand, hope this helps mate.

Either as above or just put a long lever on the pulley bolt and whack with ahammer as the jarring action often works better.
