Default flywheel refacing question

Hello.
YB. I want to reface flywheel before put new clutch kit.
Tell me please how to remove guides(for clutch cover) from flywheel? And how to put it back? Or no need to remove it for refacing?

A pair of pliers should do the trick, may take a bit of effort tho...no special tool really needed. To reinstall make sure the holes on the flywheel are clean and guides are also clean then carefully tap them back in place.

just a word of warning ... dont put them in a vice and try and twist them out .. they will snap off and you will have to drill out ... the ones i had were very tight in the holes ... the machine shop does it ,,, by putting the dowel in the vice and with a soft headed hammer hitting the flywheel and pulling them out that way .. i have yet to try that method myself ....

Just had mine done, 1 was snapped anyway so tried to drill it out and it drilled really easily as their just soft metal so snapped the heads off the other 2 and drilled them out as well!! I found a set of new dowls on ebay very cheap so replaced it with those rather than trying to re-use the old ones!

I put flywheel in a vice then get grips on the dowels, then tap with a dead blow hammer, come out real easy that way but takes a few mins, rarely have to do this as just leave it to machine shop mostly.

Yea most machine shops will do it for u but the place i took mine would have charged more for removing them then making new ones to fit so was cheaper for me to just do it myself!! PLus it gave me something to do
