Default Removing the alarm/immobiliser part of a zetec loom?

As title really

I have a 2.0l zetec engine from a 2000 x reg focus.

I'm fitting it into something else, and want to use the original ecu/loom for the moment to get it up and running.

I have the key, transponder etc, but i dont want to use the alarm/immobiliser.

If i split the loom, do i have to fool the ecu into thinking the alarm is there? or can i just cut it out?

cheers for any help

Obviously this is info that may not want to go into the public domain for peoples car security, so if someone could pm the answer that would be great.

The immobilisor is inside the ECU, so no.

you cant cut it out, its through the ecu
unless you've got an aftermarket 1 fitted as well
but you cant do away with the chip'd key

An alternative would be to use a very early 2L Mondeo ECU and loom. Something circa 1993. They ran an external PATS unit which you can bypass by bridging a couple of wires.

AS above the external pats ones on the early cars up to 96 only need one wire cutting out and bridging, they only cut the ignition feed.

Default Removing immobiliser

I have the same problem but on a '99 Focus 2Ltr Zetec. The loom I have stopped at the connector on the A Post which I have now removed.
I can't find any details for the wiring of the key transponder, does anyone know which pins on the ECU the transponder wires should be connected to?

Easiest way is to go to maplins and get a black plastic box , get the key and the pickup ring and place in box and then hide box up the back of the dash , or just tape key and ring together up back of dash and use your normal key to energise ignition circuit , quick esay and saves a lot of hassle

Thanks Jonathan, the problem is that I don't have the wiring between the transponder and the ECU and therefore do not know which connections to make
Cheers

If you have got an ECU with 104 pins:

No 1 on the transponder to +
No 2 to ground
No 3 to pin 19 on ECU
No 4 to pin 53 on ECU

Thanks Per - that is excellent.

Is there a convention when numbering the pins on the PATS unit, it does not have any numbers on it

Cheers
