Default FRST Re-Build Probs

Hi All any help on this would be mucho appreciated

My m8 has a FRST running a 2L ZVH on EFI (OFAB) and beiges etc,

anyway he's just done a rebuild as the previous one melted etc. anyway all built up and in the car and running fine after 1st initial start-up of new engine until...................

He leaves the car running and idling for 20 mins & nips in the house, comes back out and no engine running ??? anyway starts back up but missing badly, checked spark all o.k. etc ??? now wont start-up ???
He unplugs two injectors and it starts now theres Black smoke pouring out the back, FUEL he thinks (too much),

After scratchin his head for a couple of hrs. decides to ring Kriptontune bloke out who tells him theres a problem with his ECU as theres no readings/info on it (its blank ???) how the hell can this happen ???

so he borrowed my ECU (OFAB) and it wont prime his fuel pump ??? no power to it ?? so he manually primed the pump and the car runs initially(can the fuel pump be wired to an ignition live ???)

anyway he's proper lost now and cant get the car anywhere for them to look at it..

anyone any ideas of what to do next ???

Many thanks a very frustrated FRST owner

is the ecu running a chip to suit the beiges?
if not this will be the cause of the overfuelling
