Default Building a Zetec turbo for S1 RST

Hi,

Thinking about building a full zetec turbo using a 2.0 16v lump, probably from a mondeo with T3 turbo from my car to fit in to my Escort RS Turbo Series 1.

I think I'm just about up to date on how to build the engine itself but I'm hoping you guys can help me out with the other stuff.

Does anyone know what gearbox and clutch should be used> can the engine go straight onto a S1 gearbox?

Is there any issues with physically fitting the engine in the bay?

What management is best to use? I hear FRST's the best, does this go straight onto the S1?

Also I'd be really interested in hearing from people who have built these or drive a car with one of these engines. How do you find they drive compared to the cvh turbo??

Currently running original cvh with 190bhp and 189lb/ft torque but want to go faster!!

engine wise, 2.0 zetec with some 1.8 parts. (sump, pick pipe, flywheel) then the gear box will fit, cluch wise i took my 1.8 flywheel and old cluch to a cluch center and they told me whta one i needed, i cant rember now (sorry).

internals:

arp rod bolts and skimed pistons ok for 250bhp. h rods and decent pistons ok to 400bhp. but cost about £1200 if you dont look about.

mangment: nothing will work with s1 (shit) mangment. you could fit fiesta rst stuff but i would think its more hassel than its worth. megasquirt and edis is what i use and is easy to use and very cheap.

i have done this to a KA. not quite the same, but i had to sort out mangment and gearbox ect.


mount: i think its a fiesta mk3 mount that is modifed, there are alot of guilds on what one and how to mod it on the net.
