dump valve operation?
hopefully not a stupid question.
my car has been of the road for over a year now, has undergone a complete engine rebuild, and i have just got it running again.
The dump valve is open while the car is ticking over and it shuts in when i increase the revs, is this correct??
I cant drive it at the moment as i need to replace the rear brake pipes so i dont know how it operates on the road etc

Just for your info the big black bit opening at idle is the primary piston, then u will see a thin shaft inside which is the secondary piston (which is closed at idle
