Default lightening the flywheel ST170

Hello

I wanted to lighten my Flywheel on my St170 engine!
I do have a std Zetec Flywheel on it, because the engine is in my Escort mk6 (FL)

how much does make sense...?

there is a company on ebay that sells lightened std flywheels for the zetec quite cheaply, i'll see if i can find the company and edit my post.

Get a cvh efi flywheel and enlarge the mouting holes to 11mm from 10mm. It has the timing marks on the back for the crank sensor and weighs around 1.5kg less than the standard 220mm zetec flywheel

Go to a machine shop that do car parts etc, I don't know the weight of yours, but had my cossie one done, weighed 8.9KG(std 2wd) down to 6.6KG for £30, and that included a skim on the face as well.

what gearbox you running ? if mtx75 can run a rs focus light flywheel same as std zetec 240mm check out puma speed or build cant remember which one know not cheap, so might want go with the ttv option from burton power as bit cheaper.
ps dont think can lighten the std st170 one as it is a dmf unit, oh another place to check is the states ebay etc as the the svt focus is the same as uk spec st170's so might do a light conversion

I have imported my Clutchamsters lightened Fly from the states and its very good, not the lightest at 12.5lb but what a difference it makes. Avoid TTV they dont do a propper ST170 fly, the one they supply is for the 220mm smaller clutch plate that will fail, they cannot do a fly that will take the standard better 240mm clutch plate yet, hence why i ordered from the states.
