Just got back from there was packed! Great weather and some lovely motors, particularly liked the old skool Ford and Chevy pickup trucks, quite a few of them there!

As above I dont think there will be any more at Battlesbridge going forward, the landlord hasnt ever had permission granted for it so they are banning him! He must've made a fortune from it!! Shame really as its a great down to earth show.... Even the Ferrari club have a stand!!

this event is very simular to the uxbridge autoshow just on a smaller scale, councils etc are all haters of static shows nowadays unless of coarse they are ones earning from them shows like battlesbridge & Uxbridge are normally run by rotary clubs and proceeds go to charitys which in my books is a good thing

I am sure the local shops earn from this day as people will go look and buy as we do, I do see and understand what you mean about the council thou, all they have got to do is find the person that takes the bung and it will be sorted

the motororist contributions is one of the governments greatest assets and to let petty money grabbing local councils dictate is simply dick turpin, soon there will be entry fees to public parks thats if they dont sell the land to build on in first place, had 4 pubs within a stones through from me and now all gone closest is 1 mile away and nearest petrol station is just over a mile as 3 of those closed to flats development

They are trying to fight back - they're after any dated pictures or anything in regards to the show for the past 10 years. They're trying to go under certificate of lawfulness I've been told.

I attend Enfield Pageant, a show which I've personally see drop from being so popular with ram packed auto jumble to now having gaps... Saying that, this year was the first time in the last 5-7 years where it has seemed to pick back up. It didn't help with the shitty weather and then the introduction of the LEZ. That show is run by the Whitewebbs museum.

Battlesbridge this September has been the busiest I've seen it for a good few years! Again the weather didn't help but it was nuts. I was on the Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac (in the MK2 Consul) stand and in general with the Mercedes and a mates Mini Shorty. One thing I've never understood is the inability for people to guide exhibitors when parking. They should have two people down each of the lanes guiding people in. That would speed up the whole process and reduce the impact the show has on the roads around it.

If it goes, it would be a massive shame. Any donations made to the show had gone to charities so I'm not sure how much the owner of the fields actually made if anything. I sincerely hope it doesn't get closed down.
