Hockenheim
For all of those that come over to Germany for weekends at the Nordschleife, be advised that during the summer months (April to October) Hockenheim is also open to the public.
It's on Thursday afternoon/evening which isn't ideal but is a great track to drive with plenty of run off and safety features (unlike the 'ring) so you run less risk of bending your pride and joy when giving it some.
For more information and dates, see their website at:
http://www.hockenheimring.de/index_1.html
follow the links for auf dem ring / on the ring, touristen fahrt / tourist rides.
One really good thing is that motorbkes are run separately to cars, oh and it's pretty cheap at just 12 Euro's for 15 minutes.
Hope to see some of you next year.
If you want more info, post or pm me.

cool, nearer the time give us a shout and i'll meet you down there. if you need any advice or directions or whatever, just post or pm.
first one of the year should be mid april time, i'll keep me eye on their website and post up some dates when they're published.
just for information and planning, Hockenheim is more or less in between Stuttgart and Frankfurt on the map, and is only a cople of hours from the 'ring.

just been yesterday. 12 Euro's for a 15 minute session that lasted half an hour with at most 15 cars on the complete GP circuit. absolute bargain, and top day out.
if anybody does come over for it and you have time around the area, just down the road in a town called Speyer there is a transport museum with planes, tranes, automobiles and submarines and stuff in it. haven't been in yet, but looks really good, specially the static 747 that they've got supported up on columns 100 foot up at an angle of about 20 degrees. speyer itself is a really nice old town with cathedral and stuff as well for all you culture buffs out there.
there's also a very good motor racing museum at the hockenheimring.
