England to Scotland run! NunRun! RR Event!
Right the balls rolling for "The Run".
History of The Nun Run!
October 2002 Big Nige, Dingy and others decided it would be fun to have a leasurly drive starting in London with various meet up points en route and ending in Glasgow with the idea of a Rolling Road event held at AVA in Glasgow on the Sunday.
The General idea just having a good laugh with fellow RS enthusiasts.
(Great idea it just didnt happen)
I have spoken today with both AVA and also 1 of our favourite car mags to arrange available dates and coverage of The NunRun.
Date withheld at the moment[see contributers area]- for obvious reasons
If I do my part and orginise things correctly then 40 cars can be run up on the day.
Costs £25 for 2 wheel drive and £35 for 4 wheel drive.
Last time around the plans were to leave at some point on Saturday morning with plans to "Have a night on the Tiles" in Glasgow Saturday, and the RR event on the Sunday finnishing around 4pm.
Other sugestions such as Saturday Evening Track Event/Carting etc can be orginised if there is enough interest shown....its your event..you decide!
Basicaly what am looking for at the moment are numbers of people interested in running there cars, and sugestions as to what you want from your time in Glasgow.
Accomidation etc will be arranged localy once numbers are known.
We are also going to need people to help with arrangements to make this event run smoothly. (So voulinteers please, particularly for co-ordinating planning establishing route's etc).
Lets make it happen!

Dave.
What we really need is someone to Co-ordinate the trip plan the route etc!
As you can imagine there is quite a bit of work in ensuring that the RR event and accomidation etc is taken care of and runs smoothly, am happy to sort that.
As to what speed you travel etc thats up to the drivers, am sure you will all drive at your normal motorway speeds anyhow!

Why not have local co-ordinators,,, ie, i would volanteer (if people wanted me to) for the lancashire area etc etc and could organise via e-mail with all the local lads (and lasses) round the lancs area as to the meeting point and at what time we would join up with the main convoy etc etc?????
if each county was to have its own co-ordinator it would take the workload off one person!!!!
