Took off most of the bodykit today. It's sunday but I don't have time to waste...

I pulled out the whole engine bay wiring loom

A pic of my CSC manifold for you

Sierra Cosworth rad is too wide (front), ERST S2 (middle) is bigger than standard (rear) but fits and so I think I'll buy a new turbo one to bring engine temperature down

The car is now at a friend of mine, he will take care of the rust, the holes and the new paint.

In the meantime I prepared the front driveshafts and the wiper??? <- don't know how it's called for painting.

Also painted the upper side of my fuel tank with a lot of Hammerite black:

This is how the tank looks on the fuel pump side and inside:

That's my new fuel filter (70's Porsche 911 Carrera ) which can be hidden below the air filter box because it's only half as small as the Escort filter

And I tinted my rear windows:

Finished painting the driveshafts and the wiper mechanism:

Color looks like bright red, but it's neon/flourescent orange

Me too... but painting all of the suspension parts in black or silver is boring. When you stand beside the car you can't see the colored items, just when the hood is open or if you drive behind it. So I hope it will be fine!

in the process of sorting the frst, engines gunna be rebuilt next week and ill be updating my post (see link in sig)

i do love the xr2's though, fucking fun i had in mine were unreal, my first car was a xr2 with leather seats and colour coded,

heres the pics of my first xr2 which was first car and my second one which i like the most as it had the 15's.
had a fair few other xr2's after, some for stripping some "to go on road" but never got round to it but i had my FRST by then so was caught up in that.

sorry to clog ya post with my crap

@Jay: Nice ones, especially the red one with the standard bodykit. I think it's the only color the bodykit looks good without painting it.

And a FRST Engine also fits into a XR2

i know i looked into all sorts with the xr2 and yeah, i like red ones.

there aint much i dont know about the xr2's as i think most of the problems they can have were on my white one

i see one of your spring cups on the back axle was rusty, so was one of mine on the white one, i got a brand new cup sat in the shed for a xr2 as it was only a small hole so i welded it.

Most of these parts were changed with new ones or nearly new ones out of a 1.1 Fiesta. Most of the parts of this car were good as new.... As you can see... shot-blasted and painted

Yesterday and today I sorted the fuel lines and put the fuel filter and the pressure thingy back in

Finally my mate put the new cambelt, water pump and camshaft pulley onto the engine!!!

The wiring for dizzy and coil

The RSTurbo rad: looks nearly like a standard fit, and so does the SPAL fan

Boot is nearly done

And I'm proud to tell you that the seats are also back in the car

I've done the rest of the drivers side wiring loom:

and painted the rear sides of the rear brakes

I started to fit the bodykit now.

Looks like they've got a slightly different color compared with the rest of the car. I hope they fade to the same color in the sun...

And I put the plate back in that holds the engine hood lock. With new screws. Windshield washer jets and hoses are back in position also
