Default My S1 Zetec powered RWD in progresss

Few pics for you , finally got round to doing some serious hours on the shead ,

Bought as a semi started project but when i got it back to the workshop i found thet absoloutley everything was pissed , rotten or very badly made , so in the end i have actually done twice as much work needced to do a conversion like this , but ive saved another S1 even if its not for the purists ,

when finished itll have 300BHP of Focus RS engine , on cossy running gear , coil overs and a full colour change to moondust silver ,

ENJOY

as i bought it

bit of a shead

Made a spit

Rot and shoddy workmanship allover the place , Angle grinder time !!

The underside , complete new floorpan fabricated , not cut out of a siera , its also 1.5 inches closer to the floor which will be nice for handling and track use

Time for a fron end blast

etch primer

and another

seam sealer

Gravitex , so it lasts another 20 years

and the inner wings

inside floor pan

start of the paint base coat

Going into work today to apply the clear coat , including underneath .

Then its onto the rear , everything is in but waiting on a pair of new rear wings , fully weld it up , then paint the rest and start to bolt everything in , shouldnt be to long till its done , maybe out in it at the end of summer , Then start my Mk 1 escort

Cheers guys ,

LLOYD , Ł40 posted to your door mate , just tell me the diameter of the filter bodys and ill do the rest

Rob , hows yors comming on

wotangRS , Sierra pedal box goes straight in mate but u may need to move the throttle pedel slightly over to the right ( mines been moved about 2 inch cos i have a rather large transmision tunnel in the way) steering column also may need a small fettle but tis pretty straight forward to be honest , My S2 track ca uses a genuine RS2000MAXI pedel box but was a PROPER TWAT to do , 2 fookin days . works well tho

No real work today ,started doing a bit of the loom , im using 3 different Escort looms all spliced into one , and cos im a cheepskate il be using various other parts of escorts to complete the interior ( and it'll function better for me in the end aswell ) Early Mk3 Later MK3 and Mk4 bits .

Stratos RS,

Very similar mate , i think theirs one in scotland somewhere aswell , was built from a new shell IIRC

Paul , anytime bud ,

TBH i can make a front wheel drive car keep up with the best of them, RWD is going to be a good learning curve for me , what next ?? 4WD i spose

When this ones done itll be time to do the Mk1 escort , then i think i may have a play with a Fiesta , probably mid engined , possibly another RWD.
No updated today , Oh i bought a battery
