Default Ecoboost mk1 fiesta

Thought I'd post some pics of a project I'm doing of a mk1 fiesta that my cousin bought as a rolling shell, it's a known car as it was the first to have a zetec fitted and now we have put in a 1.6l ecoboost from the new fiesta st 180, we have chucked on the new tt turbo and hope to be running 300+ hp on the new syvecs S8GDI engine management..

That is a very compact engine. Is it the same size in the 2.3 form ?

Not too sure bud, it sits a tad too far forward in the bay for my liking but unless we went for a space frame front end that is where it will stay

Believe the 2.3 is the same basic sizing as an Duratec engine and Ecoboost 2l and 2.3l

This engine looks to be derived from the 1.25, 1.4, 1.6 & 1.7 Sigma engines?

Nice to see what is happening with this car! Was very tempted myself.

Just doing the wiring for the ecu at the moment and the car is going back to have the exhaust finished tomorrow for a couple of days... would love to have it running by April so it's full steam ahead..

My mate has a 1.6 ecoboost in his s2 rst
And I am putting one in a 3dr Sierra
As they don't weigh a lot and give good results

Looks nicely done, I like the simple engine mounts, are the mounts totally bespoke or something that you have adapted? Should be a quick car with that in there.

I would doubt he is on the standard ecu as you would have to run the whole loom, dash clocks the lot?
And there are only a handful of ecu capable of running the Gasoline direct injection..

I think it is going to stay mate yes, I really wasn't keen on it before but it's kinda grown on me and it's only there for a reason.. me and James was going to do a loom for it but now we are getting a loom made by sileck motorsport wiring as he has all the conecters in stock and has done a few of these before so already has drawings ready to go so it kinda makes sense 😀
Me and James will still do the bits inside the car that need changing/moving 👍

Spoke to Sbd at the autosport Thursday as I have done parts for Steve in the past
And he among others had 1.6 ecoboost engines on show
He has a Ecu and loom to plug and play which takes the engine
To 300hp/300lbft
It's not cheap tho
And jenvey do a nice inlet which was on the same engine
Which also allows you to fit 4 extra injectors nicely
As he said that the injectors are near there limit

I know some people have got more power
But a plug and play kit is good news

not sure whether you've made the loom yet, but i came across this the other day: http://twinkam.co.uk/epages/191f6b26...Products/SC353

seems that they will do a standlone loom for not a great deal of money

Yes I have seen that but after we had ordered our syvecs ecu so we are committed to going that route now, we was going to build our own loom in house but we have now ordered a full on motorsport loom from Sileck motorsport wiring so at least we are moving in the right direction, and thanks for the link 👍 at least all this will benefit others 😁
