Can anyone recommend a repair for bad corrosion?

Question Can anyone recommend a repair for bad corrosion?

Hi there. I have a focus mk1.5 diesel and she has just passed her mot. While I was getting her ready for her mot I found some serious corrosion under the rear fabric in the wheel arch. Thankfully it was covered for its mot so passed but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a repair scheme to fix the corrosion?

There really is no "proper option" other than to cut and weld.

agree with above. Easiest way is to find a breaker with that bit in good shape and weld that in.

Done some prodding. Wish I didn't. It's quite bad.

Left side after prodding

Led lenser for size comparison

Right side

Right side looking forward. Left is not quite as bad

Rust what fell under the car

Still drivable before I repair?

Thanks for the pictures. At least I know it's repairable. Do you have any photos after the repair so I have something to work to?

Edit: just gone through your thread and seen the pictures. Really helpful!

Very common this. My wifes focus was rotton here too. I just welded some plates over the holes.

Yes very common, it's caused by the fabric arch liners which hold the water. Bad design!
