First ford ever
Hello everyone,
Finally ticked one off my bucket list to own an RS cosworth
Needs a bit of welding underneath, a nice repaint and a hell of a clean and i think she'll be lovely, only 36k been in Guernsey till 2011!
Its got the green injectors so iv been told probably a stage 3 map (also no cat) Would people suggest to put back to standard or keep as she is? Guy in the garage next door to my shop funnily enough worked for the Cosworth rally team in Wales years back so wont have the problem of getting her running well
Any thoughts are appreciated, iv pretty much been VAG all my life so its all new to me
Kieran

Hi Mate I assume tilford near Farnham? If so I am just down the road from you near Headley and GRAYSHOTT. I would keep it as it is but consider a road trip to msd and get it live mapped. I expect it has been chipped but they are much better properly mapped.
I had a VW Caddy 20vt a few yrs back and the owner of VW caddy forum lives in Farnham (Al)

Aha, you are very well known. Msd are near Blackpool I am afraid. Mark Shead is great but no longer maps the standard Cossie l6 /l8. I am about to put a new box in my car it you will have to have a go in my vipec Ecu Cossie as it has a Borg Warner twin scroll turbo and even though it is 469 bhp on standard internals it spools up way faster than a std engined Cossie. ( mine is 4x4 but in. Pug 205 shell)

Very nice! As for leave it or return it to standard- do option 3 and tune the shit out of it! No only joking, up to you, ultimately if you want it to hold the best possible value standard would be the way to go, but tuned examples can drive better, be quicker etc etc. So its your call.

Im stuck between a rock and a hard place, I know I will sell in the next 5-10 years so im thinking maybe leave the injectors/decat as it is and maybe just get a fresh map loaded after a good service/cam belt change.
Its a hard one, so tempted to do the usual suspension changes etc as i dont want it just sitting in the garage it needs to be drove

Caddyshack is just an old forum name that I started when I built my Caddy 20vt, I do have a workshop and ramps at home but my day job is in financial services, mainly mortgage based these days.
