I was thinking you were part way there to getting it like a 1.6 Sport. Spoiler would finish it off nicely.

Where did you get the cam from?

Lovely wee car you have there mate, I was watching it when on eBay! Looks a very clean shell with plenty of good bits.

I've had my base model mk4 for over 6 years now...longest I've ever owned a car and going nowhere anytime soon!

There is a dedicated thread for base model Escorts in here somewhere, will try and find it EDIT I see you have already found it!

Still in 2 minds, don't really want to drill the boot lid as it's solid.....if I can find a red boot, then I'll do it.

Cam was from A to Z car parts on Ebay.

lovely escort, makes me miss my red rs turbo rep xr3i like mad.

Personally i'd leave it as it is without the spoiler, its different, most end up with spoilers and it looks cleaner/smoother without.

Failed it's MOT today, horn decided not to work on test!

Only advisories were. Slight chaff on front brake flexi, and rear springs drop when jacked but assume correct position when driving. But knew that anyway as it's lowered.

Will be fixed tomorrow, think it's blown a fuse.....as yesterday the isolation switch threw a hissy fit, flattened the battery, and lights etc were going crazy....so I went and took the cables off the switch and connected the main cables direct to the battery how it should be.

Just need to remove switch and fill the hole in the scuttle panel.

Cheers mate, yeah just a connector had come loose behind the horn push......so annoying though, failing on a horn. First time in 19 yrs of driving that I've had a car fail.

Got a few things to do, firstly I need the idle co2 setting. It's not rich enough so have to feather the throttle when in traffic etc.

Remove stupid switch from scuttle panel, fill hole, paint and blend in.

And all booked in for a custom longlife exhaust....Can't wait lol.

Cheers mate, yeah she does polish up well.....going for a 2" bore system with a 2 1/4" tailpipe so it's nice and subtle.

Only had her since Jan, but done alot lol......It's a good solid car, and very good mechanically now. Body work polishes up well but it's covered in dents from previous owners and had a bad respray in the past. It will get resprayed in the future, but for now I just want to enjoy driving her.

Cheers mate, if the rest of the car was immaculate I don't think I would of attempted it lol.....but that's one of the reasons I brought this car. So I could learn things I haven't done before.

Video clip, sounds great on road. Quite when cruising and a nice rasp when you put your foot down. Loads more responsive now too.

Went to a mates today and set co2 to the right percentage. Was really weak at idle. It's so much quicker now, especially with the exhaust. Standard one was so restrictive. So much fun to drive now, surprises a few people too haha

Yeah, they would look good.......but some of the dents from previous owners are where they need to go. So wouldn't be able to fit them till its been repaired and resprayed.
