MK3 Fiesta twin 45's
Here's my newest addition to the breakers yard....
1990 MK3 Fiesta 1.6S and some....
Here's a quick run through of the spec;
2.0 Zetec on Twin Weber 45's
Ashley 4-2-1 full exhaust system
1.8 big bearing diesel gearbox with ERST LSD
OMP cage
GAZ coilovers
Highspec 4 pot front brake setup
S1 ERST front seats
Compomotive TH wheels
Probably forgotten a few bits.
I bought it about 4 weeks ago after the parts lad in work showed me the eBay listing, picked it up the same day so a bit of a spontaneous purchase....
No expense has been spared building it, but it's not been built brilliantly. My other MK3 which I built has been totally fautless bar a few teething problems but this one has something new up with it every day....Wires have been thrown in with no consideration which has meant the fan (now on a switch) kept arcing out, the wiper motor kept popping fuses, a battery live arced out so the car was dead for a day, I could write a book but I'd rather not.
My intention however is to build it so It can be used reliably daily so I've put a new cambelt on it because the previous owner decided to use the Mondeo pump which pumps backwards if fitted with a Fiesta alternator setup.....I've had to repair the exhaust after that snapped, refit the front brakes because the carriers were loose, again amongst other repairs but it's getting there now!
Despite the problems I've had with it, it is bundles of fun! The other MK3 I have was a right kipper when I got hold of it and now it's bang on, so will be getting this one to a similar standard so I can take them both as many shows as possible this year!

So, got some antifreeze today to bleed up coolant system, bled it up and took car for roadtest and still loses antifreeze from the waterpump/bottom radiator hose. It has a stupid sillicone hose on it so I'm going to try a genuine hose from ford If I can get hold of one this week. Hopefully that sorts the leak, then need to put exhaust back together and jobs a gooden, hopefully...
