Mk4 Escort 1.3 popular
Hello everyone,
Thought I would start a thread on my project. After going to ford fair/ ford fest with my three lads and thoroughly enjoying it I thought what better way to get all of us more involved with the scene than by a project car. I ended up getting a Mk4 escort 1.3 popular. Mk4's have always been my favourite (first car etc).
I was suprised how solid it was, it had a rubbish repair to the O/S sill, so first thing was to sort the body work out. I cut the rot out to check the inner sill and all was good, so ordered a repair panel and a mig welder so that's where I'm at.
Plans are to sort the bodywork then the styling and then next year try and Zetec turbo it.
Thanks for looking, I will update as it progresses.

Picked these up for £45, doing a cheap refurb on them then chucking some new rubber on. Was going to go with 205/40/17?
The rot wasn't that bad but because the kids will be in it I want in safe and solid so cut further than I probably needed to.
Brought a complete sill to use for the repair, I didn't really want to patch it. I will cut and replace with this panel.
It also came with a boot full of spares including a lowering kit ready to go on.
