Default Mk3 escort zetec conversion help needed

hi people

First post !

I've bought a mk3 escort it is a 1.3 cvh
I'd like to do a zetec conversion but there's many roads to go down

Edis, stand alone management, etc
Also engines finding it difficult to find a 2.0 silvertop these days and most are a pretty penny,

Are the black tops any good or should I just spend the extra on a silvertop?

Also should I go carbs throttle bodies or injectors etc

Any advice appreciated and welcomed

Blacktop is pretty easy but you need a few extras like cvh efi flywheel silvertop sump windage tray big end bolts etc but it a doddle to fit in the engine bay

Default Update

ordered my engine gone for mondeo zetec silver top
I have fuel tank, pipes, wiring loom mk3 5speed box
Clutch flywheel and sump water pump for £400 which I didn't think was too bad

Dashboard is removed as I want it to be flocked (can anyone recommend anybody for this please)

So here's a couple more pics of progress

Engine and box unbolted and down

dash out ready for flocking

suspension all stripped for shot blasting and powder coating

new suspension and springs ordered

Will post some more pics of parts I've purchased ready for the rebuild later

Bushes came from eBay pal there are more expensive poly bushes on there but 4 x as much but for this project I'm going to give these a try full set cost me I think £104 delivered

Suspension not quite yet made up my mind as to go with maybe spax adjustables or some standard suspension

Engine 2.0 silvertop gearbox and fuel system gets picked up tomorrow

Here's some pics of the dash previous owner painted and also decided to put some screws through it as well

Cleaned down with thinners and a scotch Brite (high as a kite after doing this)

Die grinded screw holes flat then used a soldering iron to re-melt the back of the screw holes and then used body filler on the front to repair and smooth off with some 180 grit sandpaper

Been a while since update so here goes

Dash is back pics do not do this justice it looks fantastic

Started to start stripping bolts off to be re zinc'd again I'm not going for concourse just don't see the point in powder coating and new suspension and putting a shitty rusty bolt back on there ruins it for me

Nice to see another old ford getting looked after.
