THE STORY
I have had this car for a long time it was in mint condition and was featured in retro ford mag. I was always looking for an escort from a young age couldn’t seem to get the right one, then when I was seventeen I lost my best friend Sean who sadly took his own life. My life was a mess and then another friend of my Oliver who was in England at that time sent a car home for him self when it landed his dad rang me to look at I went out
And as I was looking under the car he said if you want the car Oliver said you can have it. This was by far the nicest thing that anyone had done for me. The car helped me over the next few year to come to terms with losing Sean it kept me going. I got the car into retro ford MAG I thanked Oliver for all he done for me in the MAG and I rang him to tell him how much he helped me. Then a few weeks later my friend Oliver took his own life it is so unbelievable what has happened all I can say is Sean and Oliver were two lights in my live true friends and they have helped me become the person I have become I miss then every day but I am grateful of the time we have had.
I am sorry but I had to tell the story of my friends as a sign of respect to them.
The car
I work on cars do grp4 fabrication, restoration and chassis alignment after the MAG feature I was talking to Oliver about doing a rebuild he said if you want to just do is so I started. I sold everything of the car to fund the rebuild I know you are going to think im mad but im am very fussy and I want the car to be perfect anything else wont do I have work on a lot of escorts done through the years .I’ve always been told to do it the customers ways so I finally can build my car the way I want. Its going to be a modern grp4 spec with all my own fabrication parts all the tunnels, tubs, turrets,4 link boxes are all hand made one off’s made by me to suit 15inch wheels. I have put a lot of thought into the design of the car the centre of gravity will be as low as possible with all the weight as low ii the car and between the wheel base and the roll centres will be corrected for 15inch wheels, the fuel tank will be mounted between the wheel base the tank will be a one off alloy tank. there will be nothing fitting to the car without a great deal of thought and care.

heres the pictures of the retro feather

Out of curiosity how did you beat the metal to shape in the second picture above? Wasn't a sandbag and mallet was it? Dab hand with the english wheel too. Ace stuff!

Your fabrication skills are fantastic.
Shame there are not more people like you about as its a skill that is sadly being lost.

Keep up the great work.
