Default cosworth wide body mk7 fiesta?

Thinking of doing a fiesta mk7 wide arch rallycross project" Can I ask if id be ok with a stand fiesta mk7 shell for wide arch kit" or would I need the mk7 st shell to start? And whot running gear would be best for project?
was thinking cosworth engine and running gear! Would this be possible in the new shape fiesta? and whot else would I need to make work!

Also best guys to do all this work to top spec?

Speak to A1 rallysport, MK on here and DJM Motorsport. I really doubt you need an St shell.

I would have thought you need to check the rally cross current rules but I would be looking for a cheaper engine, something like a duratec and turbo that, or maybe the focus St /RS 5 cylinder or even a Mitsubishi evo engine....much cheaper to get the power from, no cossie taxes and plenty of donors.

I have a Cossied T16 replica 205, I love the rally group b and rallycross look plus how special a "cosworth" is. But I would go more modern if I built again. If I was to build one I would go evo or skyline for the 4wd or maybe scooby but not a fan of the noise really. Scooby is a cheap donor though.

A good cossie engine at 400 plus reliable power is prob Ł5k to 10k done properly, then the drivetrain to suit is about Ł5k again, then you have body mods and fabrication at Ł3k to Ł5k, Ł3k for paint with a wide arch kit made to look right. Minor bits and odd fabrication is over Ł3k although maybe less if you can do some yourself. If you use the scooby or evo then You could save Ł5k to Ł10k of above. If you cannot fabricate then I would buy a part done or finished project, if not then budget Ł20k if you want to keep it low.

I have rebuilt mine which had the engine, box etc all in plus body kit on but I am over Ł25k through and still not finished the rebuild and I could do another Ł5k in a heart beat on a rebuild for the engine.

All you need is a basic shell as it will be adapted to accept the wrc kit

As for an engine if be tempted for 2wd set up with a 2jz supra engine as they make 600bhp with not much bother and the diffs and no date pretty good with it

Good luck with your project

Speak to MDV specialist engineering in bradwell or Andrew Gallacher has just put 4wd Eco set up in a new fiesta as his own personal rally car.

Least if you buy a complete car you know you have everything needed

I bought a cat c 1 yr old police skoda vrs off eBay when I wanted a 20v turbo in my mk1 golf caddy, this was when only 1 or 2 had been done, after selling off the bits I was in profit. I would buy a crashed one but be careful what type of crash. Ideally find someone with a salvage licence, I know someone who might help for a reasonable fee.

You don't want a rolled car that has sat on its roof spewing oil with engine running but there must be thousands of crashed evos out there...half the owners couldn't control a 1.2 corsa lol
