68 MK2 Cortina ? Deluxe
Hi
Here are some pics of my MK2 cortina, from where sh started to where she is atm.
Firstly let me tell you that my brother in law, Jamie, is the guy responsible for the works done to the car to date .https://passionford.com/forum/images...s/smile011.gif
He too is a Ford nut, having owned a really immaculate MK1 fiesta and i dare say will be a forum member soon too, once we finish this resto.
The car
1300 deluxe, it was one of those cars that was solid, but more solid than we thought, once the car was torn down, it revealed an unwelded shell that needed only small repairs, save for the wheel arches as a previous owner fitted arches from i dunno what, lol, the car was metalled and all the areas we could finish were treated primered and top coated in radiant red
We were going for a clean smooth look in the engine bay hence the filler
apprentice?
the last picture is where we are now, i managed to get a good 1600e interior as its own was ratty, i can source all soft furnishings from East Kent trim supplies, but i am still on the look out for a decent bonnet and we are still deliberating which power plant to use, whether it be Zetec or Crossflow as we have both available, but i would need to source a conversion kit for the Zetec obviously, so the jury is still out on that one, lol.
