Red's the new grey! My S2 project with NMS! Engine, Transmission and ECU time
Well its about time i shared this project with you guys. Its been a long time coming but its finally come about. Ive ended up selling my grey car that i planned to fit the cage into. Ive now purchased a new car that we've fitted the custom cages multipoint weld in. Karl and Oli have developed a kit to allow the fitment of the mk2 focus RS gearbox and that will be finished off late this week, first rs turbo to use this gearbox to say im excited is an understatement!! The car will then be sent for paint at the end of the month
Im going to get some photos loaded up today and show you all what we've been doing over the last few weeks now the cage is fully fitted Stuff like the 600 series Tilton pedal box that Oli skillfully crafted into my bulkhead/steering colum.....a true work of art. Something that will make the car im sure.
Bit gutted im not going for that nice deep solid grey i wanted but my problem being so many have been done since i first decided i wanted it done. When werre were out in H593 JNE people constantly wanted to know the paint code etc, it stood out but people like to copy so Rosso red it is, who cares 400 bhp will look good in any colour

So then this is what we started with plus a few extras that Oli needed
This is what we'Ve ended up with after many hours of Oli getting himself in some very funny positions making everything look nice and symmetrical
This is a closer shot of the Tilton pedal box that I'm having fitted, really nice work again from Oli, it really is a well thought out job. So happy with it.
Here's a sneaky shot of the mk2 focus box mounted to a black top zebec block, thats all I'm going to show you until it's mounted
Get some more pics when i pop up tomorrow

No its all totally wrong so has to be adapted to fit. Starter motor has to be relocated. Using a mk1 focus rs clutch for off the shelf ease. Flywheel is custom made. It will all look better once its sitting in the engine bay

Few more pics from today now Oli has fitted a flat plate in the spare wheel recess and another shot of how the cds tube comes through the inner wing to give extra strength.
Also the bits that tie in the rear suspension pick ups have been capped off to make them loo a little better. Busy two weeks getting it ready for paint on the 27th. Got to choose a grey for the cage and wheels then it can be done, windows to order, shocks to come back from Leda then it can all be put together and Karl can assemble the engine!!
Exciting times to say the least
One last shot just because i like the angle lol!!!

Keep mum about the rear end chap.
Was just cleaning them externally today, will open them up on Monday after the dyno session. I looked at your quote and it says "400 bhp special" I wondered if it would show up on a forum. I'll do what I did with Mark's Mondeo cosworth units and send you pictures as I progress if you PM me an email and number.

Mate i hope you dont mind me going red too!! Shell was too good to rob it of its Rosso red. Its really grown on me now, one of the things i always got stuck on was when i thought about your car its killed me off their being loads of grey cars come out this last year or so! Hows yours coming on ?
Anyway back on topic Muz, yeah they hopefully add a little strength to the inner wing especially as my box hanger is situated just below it too

Mainly that its rated to 400 ft/lb of torque and in a car deemed to do 100k miles without too much issue, it has very close ratios to that of the BC believe it or not just with the addition of a 6th gear. One of the biggest plus points is that the whole setup isn't actually as wide as the old BC so no mods have to be made to the chassis leg to get it too fit. That with the fact it has the ATB diff fitted and equal length drive shafts makes it an ideal conversion. Should be bullet proof!
