That's quite a lot of ignition advance at WOT. How did you get to those numbers?

well have Been struggling with ignition setup,not much info on boa timing curves, been reading up on timing curves for dizzys it seems with vac disconnected a smooth rise from1.2k (10 deg 30 ish) all in at 4k is the norm then at idle vac connected add's 8 to 10 deg is added decaying with kpa rise this is what i have aimed for plus a couple of deg advance around 650 rpm to stabilize idle settle (open loop), trial and error really with no obvious detonation.
as this is pent combustion head design, recommended maximum advance is 30 to 32 but seems a little flat at peak power 6k adding a couple of degrees around 5k up makes a big difference, the advance map is accurate (checked with strobe light fixed 10 deg advanced spot on) i keep a running tune so if i get in a muddle i revert back to that beauty of the msq

There are a few WOT ignition maps for the boa on fordpower. I believe all use les advance than you do. Not saying those maps are better though. I'm also interested in optimising WOT timing.

thanks for the pointer had a look
seems 28 deg is max advance on original eecv mmmm
i tend to run 12.5 afr up the top maybe this is why it likes more advance,
set up is
bosch twin spray pattern injectors 260 cc from boxter
free flow 2.5" stainless exhaust system home fabricated front pipes de cat
ms2 v3.3.3 batch fire left right bank wasted spark direct coil drivers using speed density
inovate lc2 wideband o2 sensor
standard sierra in tank pump
standard engine with modified chain tensioner.
