Here's my 1983 sierra 3dr 1.6 base model. I'm currently fitting a Toyota 1uz 4.0 v8 on a BMW zf manual gearbox. The work being done is by Nev Payne at f1/driftmoto in West Kingsdown brands Hatch. There will be an off the shelf kit mad for these also mk2 saph shape and the good thing is the standard manifolds fit like a glove the mounts are made to the original mounts so vibratechnics can be used. The car will be kept base on 16" rfx splits half cage buckets and all kept period to the age if the car bladed front arb setup disconnected rear arb with shortened steering arms for more lock. Eccentric topmounts gaz golds all around. Here's some build pics as it stands now and how I got it.....

I don't hate it, there aren't enough real Cossie's left so a bunch of reps doesn't hurt if they have been done well.

But yeah, a low and mean v8 base model will be cool as fuck!

Mine is white, got some brand new Hockenheims, a base model spoiler (the one people cut the nick out of for the RS500 look) Bilsteins, Ahmed springs from Mike Rainbird, not got YB money so it's either 24v v6 or 16v i4 hybrid but I can't decide which one.

Çurrently just smoking around as a 1.6 pinto, all standard.

Can't beat the look of a base model boys. It's not that I hate 3dr cossies there my dream car I just don't like how such a good looking car in the first place is used to something that's been done to death. I got rid of this to fund this base I have now

Engine and gearbox mounts powder coated. He has also copied and water jetted these so he can sell the whole setup as a bolt in kit for sierras

It's now sat in the bay on its mounts but the bonnet fouls the intake so we have had to lower the subframe. But other then that the gearbox lever comes out dead centre in the gear lever hole. It's like it is made for a sierra very very happy. Water ways is one in one out like a pinto no joining silly t piece fittings nothing. Waiting on the pressed stainless plates for the custom sump then it's done.

shes gonna be a monster mate! what are your plans regarding the rear diff? ive got a bmw 325tds engine in mine but the diff ratio is way out ( only does 90-100)

Rear diff is gonna be welded till I build my 4wd rear beam then get the supra conversion kit. Yeah I love the base model minimalist look is the best look it's staying patina dropped on rfx splits it's ready now all in. Pics tomoz boys

Engine is in people. Bonnet shuts and original sump fits so a bolt on kit will be available. Picking it up tonight boys get more pics as of when
