I am trying mate! Lol! Flat out with things at the mo so just trying to get it all done as and when I can!
It's getting there slowly though How's your one going?
Half way through building it I was trying to decide whether I preferred the look of the white one (even though I'd always wanted a crystal blue one! ) but now it's coming together a bit more, I think I made the right decision!

Got a bit more work done on it yesterday with help from my mate Ade
Got the front brakes on and connected:
Still got to paint the AP logo on the O/S as didn't have time. I got the kit from Mark at MT Motorsport minus the calipers as I already had those from my white saph so used those. I must say the quality of Marks brake kits are really top drawer! They fitted straight on with no messing, no cutting, filing, modifying or anything! All of the other brake kits I have fitted in the past have always needed to messed about with quite a bit to fit but this kit was perfect from the off! Top marks to Mark at MT!
Got the headlining that Ade very kindly retrimmed for me (and did a lovely job too! ) fitted as well, just a few more bits needed to fit and then that part is done:
Now on to something a little more juicy!
It's in the hole!
I picked the engine up from Tony a couple of weeks ago and it's been round Ade's house while I got the car ready for the engine and built some of it up there too.
Got a few bits connected up yesterday but ran out of light so going up for another play in a little while!
Got the car out of the garage just to see what it looked like and I'm quite happy with it all so far! Got some new side mouldings on the way for it so they should be on soon.
Massive thank you to Ade for giving up most his day off to help me yesterday! Much appreciated mate!

The wheels will be going silver mate
Crystal blue growing on you yet?!
Yeah we'll sort something out mate!
Yeah I thinks silver will look nice
It is a bit of a marmite colour but I've always wanted one this colour. It didn't look very nice when it was a bare shell but looks nice now it's all built up!
Cheers mate
I like it especially as they never made many!
Cheers Steve!
How's you?
I shall keep an eye out! Is it sierra shaped?

looks like you are flying along! I really really like crystal blue!!, I kept looking at the shell when it was for sale but 2 things put me off 1, Oban is 10ish hours from here and 2, I had only just got mine back together/finished or i would have had it
hadn't even looked at mine for at least 6 month until Sunday
have got to fit some new bearing to the hubs I got off Jay ages ago lol want to get the beam off and give it a tidy up underneath, keep having ideas of fitting standard wheels lol

Blimey, been really busy these past few weeks what with work and getting the car done, I forgot to update the thread!
Good stuff mate, hope the MOT went ok. Yeah they much prefer living in a garage than being outside!
I know what you mean mate, it's my 6th year without a cossie on the road, I think I've forgotten how to drive one!
Cheers mate, always wanted a crystal one and there aren't too many about!
Cheers, hopefully mate!
Thanks mate!
It doesn't look too bad mate but I'm not 100% happy with the paintwork so that'll be getting sorted at some stage but it's just not a priority at the mo, just need to get the damn thing on the road!
I got my breather from Paul at North Yorks RS Spares and it's quite a nice bit of kit!
I've got a few odds and sods mate but nothing juicy really.
Cheers, hopefully mate!

Got quite a bit more done on the old turkey over the past few weeks.
Got the front and rear strut braces fitted up:
Had a new exhaust made as the one I bought just simply did not fit due to the 6 degree beam and supra diff. Didn't get many pics of it, I should have whle it was on the ramp! Went for a 3.5" tailpipe and it's also got a nice big centre box in it too so hopefully won't be too loud!
Got all the electrical bits finished so I thought it was about time to fit a battery and see what does and doesn't work! My heart was in my mouth at this point as i was expecting flames and smoke!
Luckily it didn't catch light! Lol! And even more surprising was the fact that literally everything bar the dash lights and electric mirrors worked! The dash lights was just a bad connection on the back of the instrument cluster and I haven't looked at the mirrors yet. Ive got 12v at the coil pack and 5v at the MAP sensor so I'm happy the the ECU is powering up ok and the fuel pump primes when the ignition is switched so its all looking good. Well happy so far!
Looks a bit spooky looking with the lights on in the garage
Fitted a fuel pump pre filter last night:
It's all starting to come together quite nicely
Still a fair bit to do but I'm hoping tomorrow will see the engine running so fingers crossed! Getting nervous now especially considering the problems I had last year but I've got confidence now that Tony has worked his magic!

Alright Gaz,long time no speak.I have just read the complete thread from the beginning, I didn't know you had another shell as I've been off th site for a good 7/8 months now. I love crystal blue, you've done very well to get to where you are currently with the car.Looking forward to the finishing touches now.

Good to see you earlier mate, motor looks well too!
Hello mate, how's things?
I just felt I needed a change, was pretty gutted about getting rid of the white one but there you go. I've always wanted a crystal blue one so just went for it!
Just a few more little bits to do and it should be pretty much there
What you driving about in these days?
Nice one, cheers mate!
Cheers Glenn, hopefully it should have an MOT in the next few days so fingers crossed!
Thanks mate!
They never made many in this colour apparently so it's nice to have something a little bit different!

Been looking at Evo 8's and Scooby WR1's just lately although a VXR8 tickles my fancy as well!

Well, it runs!
We got it running on Friday night but we struggled to get it to fire up. Then we got it to start but then it would only run for a few seconds before it cut out.
I pushed the car back in the garage as I lost the daylight so just went home happy but cheesed off at the same time. Happy that the engine sounds sweet (nice one Tony! ) but cheesed off about the running fault.
Went back the next morning armed with a fresh head, loads more fuel in case it was the fuel level causing the problem and some helpful advice from Tony.
Dumped another 20 litres of fuel in it - no difference.
Started checking sensor voltages at the ECU.
TPS working as it should so went to check MAP sensor voltage at ECU. 0.2 volts with ignition on and reading not changing when sucking on the pipe. BINGO! Unbolted the map sensor and had a bit of a fiddle about and got it to read 1.5v with ignition on changing to about 0.3-0.4v when sucking on the pipe.
Cranked the engine over and it burst into life and ran sweet as a nut and revved up as it should!
Gave its first few minutes running as Tony advised me and it's all good on the engine front so far! I had my heart in my mouth when I first fired it up due to the problems I had last year but I needn't have worried! So relieved now!
The brakes on the other hand are giving me a headache now as I can't get them to bleed but doing a few wiring checks and stuff has led me to diagnose the brake pump as being buggered so got to get another one of those now which shouldn't be too bad!
So happy it's finally on its way!
Big thanks to Ade and Tony for their helping me get it all sorted as well!
