Met the guys from the bodyshop at my unit this afternoon to fit the bonnet, bumper, sideskirts And a roof vent, which is the old one and was damaged, laquer was shot to pieces and in all not very good condition, well its now mint and good as new, which has saved me a couple of hundred wuid so im well happy, xtreme have done a pucker job of bringing it back to life!!
Whilst i was there i test fitted the hydraulic handbrake well, i placed it on the tunnel, dunno where itll be until i get seats in.
Car probably wont get touched for a few weeks, im overly busy with other things

It's Michaels Astra. I remember him coming back and telling me what happened. Atleast you were ok.
Mike doesn't have much luck going there. I think the last time he went there for the f1 and his mate had a gas cylinder explode in a tent ! I'll probably avoid any trips out there with him

I had a day down the unit yesterday, a full day and it felt good! First proper time working on her in 4 months!!!!
Started off by getting the steering colum fitted so that i can then get a seat in, find the correct steering wheel position in order to fit my lifeline snap off steering boss as the boss needs welding to the colum, ha long winded but needed doing..
Then it was seat in, i borrowed a mates seat as i dont have any, i sold the corbeaus as i want something in particular
With that done, i got the position, turns out it literally meeds to be welded on the end!! Removed and resdy to send to mk motorsport..
Along with these which i also removed yesterday as i truly fucked up with my measurements and now need further modification lol
.
Then i got some bits bolted in..
Hydro and resorvoirs for brakes/clutch
Fuel tank..
New genuine prop bolts fitted
Scuttle and wipers, spent a while cleaning the scuttle before hand, lucky i have a donor focus for parts!!
I also properly aligned and fitted the aerocatches front and rear.
And provisionally bought a brand new set of comp ths..
Couple of cool pics i took and found on phone
Cant wait to get back down there

Got a bit of time this week so popped doen the unit for sn hour or so earlier to finish the dash as im taking it to be flocked tomorrow morning!!
Last bit left (so i thought) was to make the surround for the stack dash as it never had one before, was just sorta plonked there and secured with odd screws, anyway.
I decided to reuse the carbon, cut it to the shape of the oe surround and bond together..
The holes can stay as thats where the recall buttons for the stack will live and battery and indicator lights.
Then i got the dash out from where its been left and turns out i mustve used a wrong type of sealent when i did it last amd it had all peeled and gone funny, maybe it was being left in the cold unit or whatever, i dunno but it couldnt stay so i had to strip it all of and re seal the lot, all done properly now using a polyurethane sealant which the flock will also take to well..
Early start for me to get to banbury and back before traffic!
