Fantastic read, so cool to see an old legend get rebuilt by someone who wants to actually do a proper job.
Can't wait to watch it come together. Best of luck.

I would nearly get some couplers to cover the thread part. Even if they are just cable tied on. Just done a search to see if such a thing existed.
Found these:

I wouldnt bother, it washed off in no time at all. If they were mine, I'd be wrapping them in this sort of stuff:
http://www.new-line.com/sealants/oil...ion-tape-rolls
Which is used on offshore hydraulic fittings to protect from salty spray/air. Get them on the car and adjusted with copper slip on the threads around the collars and once you're happy with them, pull them off and clean them and wrap them, then fit and forget.
Car looks superb, really enjoying seeing this come together!

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
I had mine on the Fiesta fully greased up, coilover sleeves fitted and packed out with grease and the adjuster collar still seized. Seized to the point where I had to cut the collar off and it still needed several blows with a mallet to get it off

Marks were a real challenge as i had to replace everything except the bodies. Rods, pistons , tubes, droop stops foot valves the lot all replaced. Most were made specifically for marks as they are a bespoke unit.

got an update about my brakes there nearly finished. when I bought the car I did a deal with martin for 4 pot brembo calliper's ,but as I've decided to up the power I decided to put ap 6 pots on and im using a 362mm disc up front with reyland custom bells and the reyland 325mm rear conversion using std calliper, I was trying to do a deal with martin to trade the brembos back in for aps but I couldn't get through to martin to get a price so I spoke to mark at mt motorsport to make brackets and supply new callipers and pads.so I sent him over a disc and bell to get working on.
big thanks to mark he's done a super job and I well pleased with what ive seen so far
callipers are the cp5575 in black
got a message of the finished product last night about 10.00pm and the bufty even engraved the brackets for me lol

Some nice parts going on there mate. Get the rear dampers over when you can. Going to be a challenge if they're worse than the fronts!
