Default Ford Sierra 2.0 CL from Spain

Hi all! My name is Dani and I'm from Sevilla, Spain. I've been visiting this forum a few time ago and I've decided to introduced myself. Sorry but I'm still studying english looking for a better level

Now my car

I have a Ford Sierra 2.0 doch carburation CL 109hp from october 1991, it's my granpa's car since new. A few years ago I began to be interested in it. I really love this car and the color, mercury grey. I want to restore it little by little. Unfortunately it must be a "low cost" restoration because I'm not much money to do this and not enough tools. I hope learn a lot in this forum.

A year ago my granpa had an accident and the back was damaged. I tried to fix it but the result wasn't the best... Right now I have more experience and I'm going to try it again but I think the best way is to change te back. Some pictures:

The interior is not too well but little by little

I want to come back the 2004 ford sierra's state

I'm so sorry if it's not the place for the presentation, but I haven't find a particular place to do it. Anyway it's the begining of my restoration!

Greetings from Spain!

Welcome and good luck with restoring the car! Always nice to see Sierras being rescued!

BTW, are you sure it's mercury grey? I didn't think they did mercury grey on the facelifted model (post 1990). But polaris grey and mercury grey always look a bit alike in my opinion. I still think mercuy grey is the nicest colour on a sapph, but perhaps that's only because my first sapph was mercury grey.

Thank you mate!

Yes I am, I have seen the plate under the bonnet where is wrote "MERCURY GRIJS" code Q7 and I have seen a lot of facelifted sierras in this color at least in Spain and other countries. I also think that is the best colour for a sapph sierra. Yesterday I saw these colour, polaris grey, and it's really similar dependent the light, but I prefer mercury I like Nouvea red and black to a cosie sapph too!

Yes! I would like to fix all of them, but the paint work is very expensive Some day I'll do it.

My first goal is to remove the rust. When I fixed the back, I tried to remove it but it is coming back again...

Good afternoon, I apologize for my English, a good car, my work involves painting and repairing cars, I can advise to lay down after cleaning metal epoxy primer to protect it from oxygen and water, thus preventing the appearance of corrosion. Good luck in restoring

You lose mate! There is rust, not much, but there is. I don't know if there is under the car, I only know that there is inside the trunk because water is filtered by the sides. The escort has more rust, it was the reason it was scrapped on 2006

Today I walked around in the scrap and buy some little details to my sierra.

I've change the window's rubber between front and rear door:

"New":

Now in the windows:

I've changed the glove box knob:

Finally I've changed the rear light's gaskets and placed the car jack in it original place:

I hope that the water filtration will be reduced. I know that the most of it is in the bumper side and a very little hole above the rear light. This is going to be fixed quickly.

This is the DOCH 2.0 EFI CLX donor in the scrap and maybe buy the driver seat or both of this, they are new I would like buy the steering wheel, is in very good condition and it's like the cosworth one:

Mine are destroyed

But as I said in my presentation: little by little...

Got some changes after 3 years

New rear bumper:

New clean front lights and engine wash:

Escort mk5 original carpets:

New genuine MT75 knob from Mondeo mk1:

And finally a general sight of the dash:

Next mod is to install original tacho from dohc efi, cause my CL version has not it

Hope you like!

Greetings!
